Praising God
Scripture Reading: Psalm 95
“Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms,” Psalm 95:2.
Praising God
Father God, we thank you and we declare that our lips shall be filled with your praise all the time.
Beloved, do not be a people with a hardened heart. Resolve to “sing unto the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation,” Psalm 95:1. Come before Him with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms. Before you eat your dinner today, pause with your family and make a joyful noise. Thank God, “For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also,” Psalm 95:3–4. He knows what makes them stand and He knows what will bring them down. Fear Him! “The sea is his, and he made it; and his hands formed the dry land,” Psalm 95:5.
Beloved, come today, “let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our maker. He is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand,” Psalm 95:6–7. Do not plan to do it tomorrow; praise Him today.
Praise for His power, praise Him for His wonders, praise Him for His lovingkindness, His works, and His wonderful names. How often should we praise Him?
Daily, Psalm 72:15.
Continually, Psalm 71:6.
Seven times a day, Psalm 119:164. All the day long, Psalm 35:28.
At midnight, Psalm 119:62, Acts 16:25. While we live, Psalm 146:2.
How we should praise Him is described in Psalm 150. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Prayer Points:
Father God, give us the grace to praise and worship you in spirit and in truth. Grant each of us a personal revelation of the value of praise to you our living God, and draw us closer to you through our praises. Amen.
