You are for Signs and Wonders
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 8:18
“Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.”
You are for Signs and Wonders
Our Father and our God, we thank you because you will perform signs, wonders, and miracles in our time. You will deliver us wonderfully, bless us wonderfully, protect us wonderfully, and defend us wonderfully.
Today, many people see signs and wonder what they could mean. According to the Word of God, a sign must have spiritual significance. It must be based on the Word. A sign from God will not be inexplicable.
“And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth,” Genesis 9:12–17.
God used the rainbow to signify that no matter how hard it rains in your life, there will always be an end to that rain. This is an example of a sign that is a token of spiritual significance. God gives signs to the believer to:
Authenticate prophecy
Strengthen faith
Confirm and give assurance of God’s Word
Ensure a promise
Confirm a prophecy
The secret to experiencing signs and wonders from God is intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Worship God, spend time in prayer, read the Word, and manifest the fruit of the Spirit. Go from glory to glory and become a wonder in your generation. God is expecting you to be a sign and a wonder in this generation.
We know what a sign is, but what is a wonder? A wonder is someone whose life manifests miraculous works. The Lord’s name is wonderful because He is full of wonders. You are made in His image; therefore, God wants your life to be full of wonders too.
Prayer Points
Are you operating in signs and wonders? If you are not, you must develop intimacy with the Holy Spirit who is the operator of signs and wonders. The first step to achieving such intimacy is to give your life to Jesus. Then you will receive the Holy Spirit who can begin to work with you and direct you. Pray with me, “Dear Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you. I confess and forsake my sins. Cleanse me from my sins with your blood. Write my name in the book of life and fill me with your Spirit. Make me a wonder in my generation.”
Father, I lift up your children who desire to become what you have purposed them to become: children of signs and wonders. I pray in the name of Jesus that you will give them intimacy with the Holy Spirit.
