Asher: Happy Am I
Genesis 30:12–13 says that Zilpha, Leah’s maid, bare Jacob a second son and Leah called his name Asher, which means “happy.”
When you become a crusader who invades territories for souls, you come with these souls, this good fortune, to the living God, and manifest the happiness of Asher. Leah said, “Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed.” When you get to the realm of Asher, you will be described as blessed, enabled, and happy. When you are blessed it means you are encoded, enabled, and empowered with the ability to accomplish. And when you have these capabilities and manifest them in view of everyone, happiness is inevitable because you are doing what you are made to do.
Can you describe your journey in Christianity as happy? Can you say, “Happy am I,” or are you perpetually analyzing your problems? Think of your problems as temporary; they are there to train you through the stage of wrestling so that you will become empowered. In each situation as you come to the end of your wrestling, you become empowered and are able to prevail and gain good fortune. When you have good fortune you are happy after the order of Asher. My question today is can you say you are happy and blessed? If you can say it, it is all right to say it. Many of us prefer to tell people we are sad but we should say we are happy when we are happy.
Are you happy today? Do you have the oil of Asher in you? It is okay as a Christian to say you are happy, to say you are blessed, and not just to say it as Christianese where it sounds so hollow, boring, and frightening, it turns people off. When you are truly happy from revelation, from the reality of what Jesus has done, is doing, and will do in your life, you can say it.
When you are happy because you are invading and crusading for souls, when you have brought in the good fortune, you can say like Asher, I am happy, you can say like Leah at the birth of Asher, I am happy because I am blessed. Leah who was crying in the beginning, by the eighth son was able to say I am happy because my productivity has come, because I am empowered, because I am blessed, and because the daughters will call me blessed. Leah is able to say, I am happy because the people who pitied me in the beginning will look at me now and call me blessed; the people who looked at me as ugly and unwanted will look at me through Asher and say I am blessed; the people who looked at me as disabled will now look at me through Asher and say I am enabled, empowered, and happy. I pray that God will cause the word “happy” to come out of your mouth because the above truths are evident in your life.
You cannot go through wrestlings and not be empowered, and when you have that power you must use it to bring forth fruit for the Master. There is nothing like the joy of a crusader when souls come forward to surrender their lives to Jesus.
There is nothing like the joy of invading a territory when you can proclaim the good news that the people there no longer need to wallow in sin and condemnation. There is nothing greater than when people respond, when they come to Jesus, and you present those souls to God. After a crusade, most ministers are able to say like Leah, “Happy am I,” because I will be called blessed.
Whenever you accomplish something great for God there is joy that surpasses all understanding, happiness that cannot be hidden, an excitement and an expression of happiness that is a component of Christianity. Christianity is not to be endured so that when you get to heaven you will be happy. You can be happy here when you have the manifestation of Asher. I pray that your Asher will come forth, that you will be happy and blessed. I pray that in that proclamation you will have joy in your work with God. I pray that the happiness that is the portion of those who have invaded and collected souls for the Kingdom of God will become a reality in your life.
When was the last time you went out to invade? When was the last time you manifested that a troop had come to invade territories? When was the last time you did something great for God? I encourage you today to manifest the grace of Gad; that you go out and bring souls for the Kingdom. I pray in Jesus’ name that like Leah, you will be able to say, “Happy am I” in the order of Asher.
Prayer Points:
In order to be truly happy you must have Jesus in your heart. If you have never given your life to Him, pray with me now, “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you. Write my name in the book of life. Give me joy and bless me with the fruit of the Spirit. Give me the grace to be so productive for you that like Leah I can say, ‘Happy am I, because the daughters will call me blessed,’ in Jesus’ name.” Amen.
