My Jesus, My Beloved

Scripture Reading: Song of Solomon 1, Revelation 1 “Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as an ointment poured forth…,” Song of Solomon 1:3.

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto His servants…,” Revelation 1:1

My Jesus, My Beloved

Brethren, we need a personal revelation of who our Lord Jesus Christ is according to His Word. When we know Him better, our confidence in Him will increase and our fears, complexes and insecurities will depart. May we know our Lord and be strong enough to do exploits for Him. Gleaning from the chapters of Song of Solomon, we see the manifestations of Jesus our Saviour as such: His love is better than wine. His name is as an ointment poured forth. He is like a bundle of myrrh. He has dove’s eyes. He is pleasant. He is the Rose of Sharon. He is the Lily of the Valley. He is as a Lily among thorns. He is as the apple tree among the trees of the wood.

His fruit is sweet to my taste. His banner over me is love. He is like a roe or a young hart. Sweet is His voice. His countenance is comely. He feeds among the lilies. He comes out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke. He is perfumed with myrrh and frankincense. He is white and ruddy. He is the chiefest among ten thousand. His head is as the finest gold. His locks are bushy and black as a raven. His cheeks are as a bed of sweet spices, as sweet flowers. His lips are like lilies dropping sweet smelling myrrh. His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl. His belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires. His legs are as pillars of marble set upon sockets of fine gold. His countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as cedars. His mouth is most sweet. He is altogether lovely. He is my Beloved and He is my friend. He goes to his garden, to the bed of spices, to feed in the gardens and He gathers lilies. I am his and He is mine. He feeds among the lilies.

In the book of Revelation we get a revelation of Jesus our Lord from Jesus Himself. He is a faithful witness. He is the first begotten of the dead. He is the Prince of the kings of the earth. He loves us. He washed us from our sins with His blood. He made us kings and priests unto God. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end. Which is and which was and which is to come. He is the Almighty. His head and hairs are white as wool and white as snow. His eyes are a flaming fire. His feet are as unto fine brass. His voice is as the sound of many waters. His countenance is as the sun shining in its strength. He is the first and last. He is He that lives and was dead. He is alive forever more. He has the keys of hell and death. He holds the seven stars in His right hand. He walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks. He has the sharp sword with two edges. He is the Son of God. He is holy and true. He has the key of David. He is the Amen. He is the faithful and true witness. He is the beginning of the creation of God. He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah. He is the Lamb. His head has many crowns. He has a name written, known only by Him. He is the Word of God. He is the King of Kings. He is the Lord of Lords. He is the root and the offspring of David. He is the bright and morning star. Jesus is a type of Solomon and the Bride of Christ is a type of the Shulamite woman, and the joys of love, courtship and marriage affirm the everlasting relationship with the Lord Jesus, our Beloved. May we be able to say “I am my beloved’s and His desire is towards me.”

Prayer Points:

Dear Lord, bless me with the grace to know you personally with this deeper revelation. Let an awareness of your attributes increase my confidence in you and grant me the strength to do exploits for you because I know you better. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
