The Cost of Disconnect
Scripture Reading: Judges 16:20–21
“And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him. But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.”
The Cost of Disconnect
Father God we thank you because true blessing can only come from you. We thank you for your Word that was given for our encouragement and to incite us to ask not only for mercy drops of blessings but also for showers of blessings. O Lord, keep us from evil, that it will not grieve us. Lord, we pray that you give us the grace to understand the process that guarantees blessings. Deliver us from disconnecting from you; deliver us from the dangers of disconnect in Jesus’ name we pray.
There is a price that is too costly for any of us to pay when we disconnect from salvation. The dangers are grave. We have talked about all the blessings that come because we are connected with salvation. We go from lack and instability to prosperity and stability, from barrenness to fruitfulness, and from loss of productivity to resuscitation of what is dying or is dead in our lives. When we stay connected with salvation operating in our body, soul, and spirit, we experience restoration, deliverance from partial success, and the ability to prosper in this life and in eternity. O Father, we thank you for the benefits of being connected with salvation. Today, Lord, we pray that you reveal to us the cost of disconnect. Give us the grace to never contemplate disconnecting from your salvation in the name of Jesus.
In Judges 13:24 – 16:31, we see how Samson’s life is a tragic example of the cost of disconnect. Samson was the epitome of stability because of the supernatural power he possessed. We find out that he who had power enough not to be imprisoned when he was connected with salvation, was placed in prison and could not find the door out because he disconnected.
Samson who had been so fruitful because of his power became barren, fruitless. Samson could not increase anymore, could not manifest the glory of God. Samson whose eyes were once opened, was now blind; he lost his vision. When you reconnect, your enemies are blinded, but when you disconnect, you become blinded. I pray today that if you have broken the link of your protection, that God will give you the grace to be led to Calvary afresh. Pray and get reconnected to the covenant of salvation because the cost of blindness is too expensive. Samson was blind because they plucked out his eyes. When you disconnect with salvation, your success is reduced; your work is no longer excellent. Connection with salvation manifests the glory of God; disconnection reduces you to mediocrity.
Most importantly, when you disconnect from the power of the everlasting anointing, the residual anointing that gives life after death disappears. You are alive in the realm of time but in eternity you are dead forever; you have lost your soul, your salvation. There are two things that never perish: the Word of God and the souls of men. Will your soul live forever in the presence of God or will it live forever in hell? The residual anointing in the Old Testament is manifested in the encounter of the dead body that was dropped in Elisha’s grave and was revived when it touched Elisha’s bones because of the residual anointing that never ends, 2 Kings 13:21.
Elisha’s bones were evidence that there is life after death; in the anointing there is eternal life, life that never comes to an end. Therefore, in a disconnect there is eternal death. I pray in the name of Jesus that none will experience eternal death in hell, that no soul will fall into the pit with the enemy of God, and that we will hold tight to salvation in order to live life eternally. Father, we thank you for the gift of salvation. Help us not to fall into the dangers of disconnection. I pray in the name of Jesus that we will stay in perpetual fruitfulness, prosperity, productivity, and health. Father, I ask in Jesus’ name that your children will stay connected to salvation so that they will experience perpetual restoration, multiplication, cleansing, excellence, success, and vision in the name of Jesus.
Prayer Points:
Lord, I pray that you will bless us with the power of the residual anointing of life after death. I pray that it will keep us alive and we will hear the trumpet sound when Jesus comes to collect His people. May the residual anointing be in us so that we will never disconnect from salvation in the name of Jesus.
If you have never given your life to Jesus, make contact with salvation today so the blessings of connection will be yours and you will stay connected and live eternally. Pray with me now, “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you. Write my name in the book of life and deliver me from eternal death in the name of Jesus. Lord, have mercy on me, keep me connected with you, and deliver me from the dangers of disconnect in Jesus’ name.” Amen.
