Altar Coolers
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 59
“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear,” Isaiah 59:1–2.
Altar Coolers
Father, we pray that you connect us to you and your promise of an irrevocable charter of blessings. Lord, you said in your word that you will bless your chosen ones and make them a blessing; you will make them a name and a praise, and you will sign your signature over your own and make them a signet, Haggai 2:23. We ask O Lord that you answer our prayers and deliver us from the things that cool down, that dampen, our altar and cause the fire of your love and blessings to go out.
We pray that you deliver us from all the things that dampen or extinguish the fire on our altars.
The Lord’s hand is not shortened that he cannot save us but it is our iniquities that are our altar coolers. “For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity,” Isaiah 59:3–4. “Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace,” Isaiah 59:7–8. They wait for light but walk in darkness, stumbling at noon as if it were night. They look for judgment and salvation, but they are far off. Their transgressions are multiplied before God and they know their iniquities, verses 9–12. “In transgressing and lying against the Lord, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart, words of falsehood. And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment,” Isaiah verses 13–
15. The Lord wondered why there was no intercessor and He put on righteousness as a breastplate, a helmet of salvation, garments of vengeance, and zeal as a cloak. According to their deeds, he will repay, fury to his adversaries and recompence to his enemies, verses 16–18. “So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him,” Isaiah 59:19.
I am speaking to Christians today who know that their altars are cold; therefore, situations cannot be altered in their favour. An altar cooler is men seeking personal glory and not giving God glory, because it brings distance. Conspiracy and slander bring distance from God. When you conspire and slander one another, God moves away.
Other altar coolers include: deceitful relationships, speaking evil, division, idolatry, soulish prayers, competition, comparison, jealousy, envy, emulation, witchcraft, adultery and fornication, alcoholism, inordinate affection, soul ties, cliques, sitting on gifts, pride, trading in the temple, insensitivity to the Holy Spirit, trashing the temple, bringing in the accursed thing, maltreating children, contamination, absence of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in our lives, absence of the revelatory Word, absence of the anointing, the presence of evil and incomplete deliverance amongst leaders and members, projecting and promoting unprepared ministers, absence of worship in spirit and in truth, irreverence, lack of evangelism, vanity, and the approval of men. All of these things cause us to talk about the power of God but not experience the manifestation.
The Word of God says that the anointing makes a difference. The enemy has come into this generation like a flood. All that I have listed cannot be denied, but I say today that the Spirit of God will make a difference. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, which is what we are experiencing now, the flooding of the enemy and the attitudes of those who are under bondage of the enemy, the Word of God says, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him,” Isaiah 59:19. I pray that the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you today; that He will lift up a standard against all the altar coolers that are operating in your life, in churches, and in ministries. I pray that God will bring the altar inflamers and enhancers that warm up the altar, and cause the manifestation of the power and presence of God again.
Prayer Points:
How can the Spirit of God come into your life and raise up a standard against the flood of the enemy? You must be born again. You must accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.
Accept Him into your heart, respect Him, and be conscious of His Presence. Give Him total control and let His Holy Spirit lead you and give you virtues and attitudes that will cause you to be an asset to the altar of prayer, the altar of worship, the altar that will alter things for your good. May this be your reality in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
