Altar Heaters
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 60
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee,” Isaiah 60:1.
Altar Heaters
Father, we thank you because every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord; and every knee shall bow. Lord Jesus, thank you for the salvation of our souls and for residing in the hearts of all who open their hearts to you. I pray that you will come in and be Lord indeed. We know that your Presence will make the difference in our prayer life. Your Presence will give us the oil, the anointing to have an altar that is alive, that is aflame, that is always sending up prayer, praise, and worship to you.
Your Presence will give us an altar that is deep in communion with you to alter things in favour of your kingdom on earth. Father, deliver us from altar coolers, and bless us with the grace of manifesting attitudes that will heat up our altar in Jesus’ name.
“Arise, shine for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged: because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee,” Isaiah 60:1–5. The passage continues into all the blessings that flow into the life of one whose light has come. When the light of God comes upon your altar, when the glory of God is upon your life and heats up your altar, you will begin to manifest the attributes and attitudes of those having heated altars. The number one altar heater is seeking the glory of God. Come as you are: be open and plain before God; have no hidden agenda and your altar will heat up and alter things for your benefit. Some specialize in manipulating the children of God. When you have no manipulation, no agenda, your altar is heated up because you approach God with purity of heart.
When you create agape relationships, pure relationships that you do not manipulate, your altar will heat up. Good speaking, gospel speaking, unity, worshipping God in Spirit and in Truth will bring about spiritual prayers celebrating one another’s progress where you have no envy, competition, comparison, or division. There will be recognition of the differences in God’s people, as God’s design. I pray that recognizing and celebrating one another’s differences, celebrating one another’s progress will heat up our altars. Can you imagine the joy it will give to God if you thank Him for blessing your brother or sister with a breakthrough instead of faking congratulations with a bitter heart?
Being pure and original, free of emulation will heat up our altars. We should stop doing what everybody else is doing. Be original and pure to what God has purposed for you. Holiness and faithfulness will heat up your altar. Genuine and ordinate relationships, not emotional entanglements and cliques, will heat up your altar. Humility and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit will heat up your altar. Absence of idolatry and keeping your altar clean will heat up your altar. Avoidance of the accursed thing, treating children right, encouraging people who are different from you, encouraging them to come into the Kingdom, evangelism, and operating with the gifts that God has put in you heats up your altar. Manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in your lifestyle and having reverence for God will heat up your altar. The anointing of the Holy Spirit that will come through pure worship and pure prayer, reading the Word, and making the Holy Spirit comfortable to be with you will improve your altar. Proclaiming the Bible with revelations, and deliverance and elimination of the sin that easily besets you will heat up your altar. Making a conscious effort to pray about and eliminate sin will heat up our altars. I pray that God will give us the grace to embrace the altar heaters so that our altars will be pleasing to the Lord.
God is calling us to arise and shine for the light and glory of God is come to heat up your altar. I pray that this power will generate a fire on your altar that will rise up to the heavens and change things for the better. It is a clarion call. God wants His children not only to be blessed but also to be a blessing to a generation that is suffering and wallowing under curses.
Prayer Points:
Father God, give us sensitivity to the temperature of our altars. Give us the grace to examine ourselves and put in place actions that heat up those altars. May altar coolers be history in our lifestyle and altar heaters be our lifestyle, in Jesus’ name.
