Wax Greater and Greater
Scripture Reading: Esther 9:4
“For Mordecai was great in the king’s house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater.”
Wax Greater and Greater
Father God I thank you for the grace to wax greater and greater. Thank you because whether the enemy likes it or not, whether the environment likes it or not, whether the circumstances like it or not, you have designed your children to wax greater and greater. We wax greater and greater when we are filled with your spirit, the Spirit of God.
How can we allow the Spirit of God to dwell in us? That can only happen if we are in love with Jesus. I want to encourage you today by saying that falling in love with Jesus is the best thing any one of us can do for ourselves. I pray that you will make a decision today for Jesus, and that the Spirit of God will be given room in your life and that you will ask Jesus to come into your heart. When the Lord is in your heart, He will censor your senses. He will change what you see, what you speak, and what you feel. He will censor your receptors, which are your five senses. What you deposit in your heart will be good material that will be sent to your mind, which is your reasoning faculty. As the things that you reason about in your mind become pure things, then your actions will be pure and you will commence the journey of living a holy life. For without holiness no man shall see God, Hebrews 12:14. It does not matter which church you go to or which pastor you know or how many revivals you attend, without holiness, no man shall see God.
Do not let new age religion or compromised Christianity deceive you. Holiness is what you and I aspire to because we reverence the living God. Many practice righteous acts.
Righteousness is what you and I do rightly towards our fellow man, but righteousness alone cannot take you to heaven.
Holiness is restraint from doing certain things because they displease God. If you used to lie, envy, plan, and conspire against people, once Jesus is in your heart there have to be positive changes in your actions. If you keep doing what you are doing and you say that you are born again and Jesus is in your heart, I say to you clearly that you do not know the Lord. If Jesus is in you, you cannot be comfortable with sin; your life will change for the better and holiness will become your watchword. I pray that you and I will embrace holiness.
The attributes of holiness manifest in the fear of God. Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Many in our generation do not really fear the Lord. To fear the Lord means you and I factor the Lord into the things we are doing. Like Joseph, when he was tempted by Potiphar’s wife said, “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?,” Genesis 39:9. That is a life that fears God. Does your life fear God? Do you live in holiness? Do you want to wax greater and greater? Examine yourself now and determine if your life has changed or if you are still doing the things you used to do? Maybe in your mind you are doing better, but you are called to uphold the standards God lays out. In this generation, everybody claims to be born again, but I pray that today you will examine yourself to see if you are in the faith, if holiness is manifested in your life. If you say you are born again but fraud is your comfort zone, I pray that you will examine yourself, repent, and embrace holiness. If you are born again but you still visit the native doctor, still consult the familiar spirits, still hold to the traditions of your forefathers that did not help them, you are not factoring God into your life. Without holiness, no man shall see God.
God desires that we wax greater and greater. The one who can make us truly great, who has the ability to make us wax greater and greater is the living God. He is the one who will not only bless you, but also make you a blessing, Genesis 12:2. He is the one who says, “I will make you a name and a praise,” Zepheniah 3:20. God also says He will “make thee as a signet,” Haggai 2:23. He says He will make you a name and a praise and put His signature on you. God will do that for the one who practices holiness and will wax greater and greater because he factors Him in.
Prayer Points:
I pray that we examine our lives and drop every habit and every attitude that is contrary to holiness. I pray that we will not only speak Christianity, we will experience Christianity in its glorious form so that we wax greater and greater. God is persuaded greater things of you. God wants to lead you and direct you, to walk closer with you. Draw near to Him in holiness. Make Him happy in righteousness and watch God cause you to wax greater and greater. I pray that your life go from glory to glory, that God will make you a blessing, a name, a praise, and a signet, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
