Remnant on Mount Zion

Scripture Reading: Joel 2:28–32
“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call,” Joel 2:32.

Remnant on Mount Zion

Christian, are you one who will call on the name of the Lord today? For the Lord said, in Mount Zion there shall be deliverance. Mount Zion is that place of worship, prayer, and preaching; Mount Zion is the mountain of the Lord. With all of the confusion and tribulations of today, have you retreated into the valley or are you on the mountaintop? Are you praying today? Are you worshipping today? Are you preaching the Word today? Then expect deliverance, for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, and as the Lord said, there will be deliverance in the remnant that the Lord will call. Are you among the remnant, one of the people who will remain true to God no matter what? The remnant is the spiritual kernel of God’s people.

God oversees a lot of people, but His business is with the lilies, the remnant, the kernel of His fruit. When we examine a piece of fruit like a mango, there is the skin, the flesh that people eat, the seed, and inside the seed there is the kernel. The kernel is the central part, the core, that brings forth new fruit. Are you the kernel, the remnant who brings forth new fruit and whom the Lord has called? Are you part of the flesh, the people who make up the body and are the multitude in the church of God? Or are you just the skin, one who remains on the surface of the Christian faith? When you are one who has that fruit inside, woe is you if you pray not, preach not, and praise not: you feel empty, deflated, and become prone to defeat.

Some people can go without God for months and be insensitive to Him. Perhaps they are the flesh the world is meant to eat. But if you are part of the remnant, then your very essence is God: your business on earth is God’s business; your interests are His interests.

In what state do you go into the house of God? When people go to the hospital, some go as walk-in patients, some arrive by ambulance and are patients in emergency rooms; some work there as nurses, doctors, or surgeons. Do you arrive in church as a patient or as a doctor? I pray that God will upgrade you to one who will get on Mount Zion and Jerusalem, one who will be delivered from the plagues of the time, and one who will come in manifesting the fruit. I pray that when you go into an environment, people say, “help has come.” May you be a blessing to others and blossom wherever you go because you are part of the remnant of God. May God keep you on Mount Zion and deliver you from destruction today, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Points:

Father, I thank you for the powerful Word of Jesus. I thank you that the blood of Jesus is able to cleanse every stain my path in life has put upon me. I thank you that the blood of Jesus is, able to set me free from sin and sorrow; able to heal and make me brand new; able to open my eyes that I might see things that I have not seen before. I thank you that the blood of Jesus is able to empower me, give me strength to live from day to day, and that it will never ever lose its power. Lord, keep me on Mount Zion and let me experience deliverance; make me one of your remnant that has your fruit that will blossom and grow forever for you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
