The Bride of Christ Emerges
Scripture Reading: Esther 2:12–18
“And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti,” Esther 2:17.
The Bride of Christ Emerges
Almighty Father, we pray for a restoration of our destiny in the name of Jesus. Give us the grace to go from glory to glory in the name of Jesus.
For many women, there is a day when they will emerge as a bride. How prepared they are, determines the way the moment is remembered. For Esther, this was certainly the case.
“Now when every maid’s turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women;) Then thus came every maiden unto the king; whatsoever she desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the king’s house. In the evening she went, and on the morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the king’s chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name. Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked
upon her. So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign,” Esther 2:12–16. After Esther was made queen, “Then the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants, even Esther’s feast; and he made a release to the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the king” verse 18.
Many remember the favour of Esther. But let us not forget the training of Esther. Do you know how difficult it must have been for her to be with all the other virgins who could do whatever they liked but she could not because she had committed herself to obedience to the king’s chamberlain. She chose to be different not just for one day, but for an extended period of time while she was preparing to meet the king.
When that meeting came, she required nothing but that which was appointed by the king’s chamberlain.
Today, the chamberlain of the King of kings is the Holy Spirit. We can hear from God through reading the Bible. Nothing you hear personally from God will contradict His written Word. Any message that contradicts the Word of God is coming from the enemy. The truth is, the Lord is looking for a bride and He knows exactly what He is looking for. Are you preparing yourself as His Bride?
Prayer Points:
Father God, may your Word be an asset in the lives of your people. Train us according to your Word for that day when Jesus takes us to be His Bride. We thank you because the marriage you are calling us to is not a temporal terrestrial one, but it is an eternal celestial one. May you find your bride in us today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
