The Bridal Shower
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 12:4–11
“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all,” 1 Corinthians 12:4–6.
The Bridal Shower
Father God, we are not worthy, but you came and chose us. Thank you for giving us every good and perfect gift. Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Almighty Jehovah, we bless you.
The Lord has showered us with gifts in preparation for the day we wed Christ Jesus:
“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will,” 1 Corinthians 12:7–11.
You may have one or several gifts of the Spirit, but if we are really His Bride then there should be no competition among us. The gifts enable you to minister to God as His Bride by blessing others with the spiritual gifts He has given you. We minister one to another thereby strengthening the body of Christ in our generation and preparing the Church, His Bride, to be presentable and ready for His coming. The showers of
His spiritual gifts manifest His reality to His people and convert unbelievers to believers.
Throughout the scriptures examples abound of saints ministering to other saints with their gift. Peter to Cornelius, Philip to the Ethiopian treasurer, Ananias to Paul. Therefore brethren, with our bridal gifts let us draw near unto one another with a true heart, and let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for He is faithful that promised; and let us consider one another to provoke to love and to good works with our gifts.
Prayer Points:
Beloved, this is how the Holy Spirit makes provision for us, while equipping us for ministry. If you have not received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, then you have not yet received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Pray with me now and say, “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you. I confess and forsake my sins.
Cleanse me from my sins with your blood and write my name in the book of life . Fill me with your Holy Spirit so I may begin to manifest spiritual gifts.” Amen.
Father, thank you for the bridal shower; for when Jesus died, He poured out His Holy Spirit to all believers. Give us the grace to manifest spiritual gifts without selfish competition among one another. Let us shower one another with the precious gifts He has given us to profit withal.
