Can God Trust You?
Scripture Reading: Luke 2:25–28
“And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God,…”
Can God Trust You?
Father God, deliver us from diversions, vanities, and sin. Give us the grace to remain on our divine course, so that what you have entrusted into our care will be thoroughly fulfilled to the glory of your holy name.
There are certain people in business organizations with high security clearance. They read top-secret information and vow never to divulge anything to anyone. Do you know whether you have a low or high security clearance level with God? With what can God entrust you? Divine security clearance and trust brings about self-confidence, as the presence, might, and glory of God manifest in your life in a manner such that no demon can stop you while you are on assignment.
God entrusted Simeon to dedicate His precious Son, Jesus. Dedicating a baby is the act of laying hands on and praying and committing the destiny of that child to God. Simeon was chosen by God amongst all the priests in Israel; the high priest did not choose Simeon. (If the high priest had known the Son of God was coming to be dedicated, he would have wanted to administer the dedication himself.) But man cannot give top
security clearance; the Holy Spirit, God Almighty alone, gives it to those whom He can trust.
What assignment can God give to you that you will not degrade, forget, or analyze to extinction, but rather you will be able to carry it through? When you walk with God, remaining conscious of your destiny and divine assignment, God will say, “This one is not playing church, but trying to accomplish goals for me.” He will entrust you with top security clearance.
What or whom can God entrust to you? Simeon was entrusted with God’s only begotten Son and he accomplished his assignment. What are you doing for God? Divine assignments bring divine protection and divine provision. What God entrusts you with determines what God will do concerning you.
Perhaps you are a pastor, a deacon or some other leader, but in your heart, you know there is nothing happening between you and God. Get on your knees and surrender yourself to the flow of the Holy Spirit. Pray for sensitivity for divine assignments.
Prayer Points:
Father, make us one of your trusted servants. In your mercy, upgrade us and give us the blessings of being those with whom you can entrust divine assignments.
