Follow the Compass

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 13:5–6
“…for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

Follow the Compass

Father God we thank you because you always come through on time. We thank you because no matter how thick the fog, no matter how confused the situation your Word comes through.

If you and I believe His promises, if we internalize the promises of God we will experience occasional delays, but He will always come through in the end. God’s Word says clearly that He will never leave nor forsake us; therefore, I can boldly say that the Lord is my helper and I will not fear what man might do to me. Because of what He has said, you and I can boldly say that we will not fear because He is our Shepherd and He will always be on time.

There are many who say, I have been waiting for the Lord, for a breakthrough, for His direction; I have been waiting, so when will I come out of this tunnel? Some feel like their life is like a journey in an endless tunnel, they have not seen the light and are merely following. The Bible is your compass. If you are following the Bible, holding onto the Word of God, remember that God is obligated to bring to pass what He has promised.

Hebrews 13:5-6 states that He has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you so that you and I may boldly say that God is my helper. Pray now and say, Lord I need your help in my marriage, with my children, in my business, and with my health. Your Word says clearly that you will never leave or forsake me and therefore I may boldly say you are my helper, I will not fear what man shall do to me. I am holding on to your promises in your Word.

God is not obligated to bring to pass what you and I say, but He is obligated to bring to pass what He says. God speaks through his Word and His obligation is to His Word.
Therefore you and I can say, with the full knowledge that God is obligated to his commitment, the Lord is my helper, I will not fear. May the Lord help you in every area in which you need help in Jesus’ name. May you have the knowledge to hold onto the Word of God, hold onto the promises. How many of you have studied the Word of God and internalized His Word so that you can remember it in times of need? How many of you are holding onto the Bible, to the compass, to the director, to the leader, which is the Word of God, the promise of God? If you hold onto the compass, the Bible, there will be times when it seems like you are holding onto what is not delivering. There are times when God seems silent, but when God is silent, when He seems far, then He is near.

In your journey you may be shrouded in fog and not know where you are. When you are consumed by your feelings that you should take certain steps because of your feelings, I encourage you to despise your feelings. When your friends pull you to a different direction, I advise you to despise your friends’ counsel. I encourage you today to follow the compass, the Bible, and you will get to your destination by its direction.

When people ask why you are holding fast, tell them, I am holding onto the Bible, that is my compass, director, foundation, and principle because it will direct, preserve, protect, promote, and provide for me. The Bible, which is our compass, is everything. If you want to get to your destination in due season, despise the fog surrounding you, despise your feelings, and follow the compass. Feelings do not move you forward; friends do not know better so they cannot direct you to your next level. The clouds and fog of life serve their purpose; it is not about you, so do not dwell on them. We just need to hold onto the Bible, the compass, and it will take us through life into eternity. May we observe this principle and prosper in life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

If you have never given your life to Jesus, you do not even have the compass to follow. Pray with me now, “Lord Jesus come into my life and put your compass, your Word in my heart that I may follow you now and through eternity, in Jesus’ name.” Amen.
