It Is of Faith
Scripture Reading: Romans 4
“Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,” Romans 4:16.
It Is of Faith
Father God, we thank you for your Presence and for the difference it makes in our lives. We pray Lord God Almighty that you will make us rich in faith. Lord, we pray that you overhaul our faith mechanism, that you do a work of revelation in our spirit man, our soul, and our minds. Cause us to work by faith to manifest the beauty, the fruit, the glory, and the grace of the life that is lived by faith in you. Father, upgrade us from a people who talk faith to a people who live faith. Help us to work out our salvation and our faith, which is the currency of relating to you in every realm. Help us to make evident the reality of our relationship with you so that others will be drawn to you. These things we ask in Jesus’ name. Whenever we find ourselves in a circumstance, an action, a hope, a reality, we need to ask ourselves if it is of faith or of fear or doubt. Is the expectation you have now, based on faith or safety? Faith or fear? Faith or doubt? Often we find that our reasoning, our tendency to doubt, and our caution cuts off the manifestation of the gifts of our faith in God. Romans 4:1–3 says, “What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” I pray that your life be described as a life of faith not of fear. Abraham lived a life of faith and God made him “a father of many nations” because he “…calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness,” Romans 4:17–22
How do we stay in faith, exercise our faith, and demonstrate our faith? How do we go beyond speaking about faith to making evident in our lives that faith works and that the miracles, blessings, and breakthroughs that we experience are of faith? Sometimes, we see proof of something people had believed against all odds. Is there something in your life that others recognize as a result of faith? To build our faith we must first resolve not to consider our circumstances. There is no consideration other than to believe that God will do it.
Everything else must be irrelevant to your expectation that God is going to do it. By this, we create capacity for faith, and God comes through for the faithful. Be strong in faith, being persuaded that what God has promised, He is able to perform, and trust God that He will perform that which you are expecting.
Prayer Points:
Begin to exercise the faith that comes from not considering your circumstances, from not doubting, and being fully persuaded that God will do exactly what He has promised. With God, may all things be possible for you in Jesus’ name.” Amen.
