Temporary Triumphs of the Wicked

Scripture Reading: Job 20:4–29
“The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath. This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God,” Job 20:28– 29.

Temporary Triumphs of the Wicked

Father, we glorify your holy name because you are our very present help in time of need. We glorify your holy name because you shield and strengthen us; you are our portion, our deliverer, our strong tower, our shelter. Lord God Almighty, we ask that you deliver us from the oppression of the wicked. In your mercy and faithfulness pour out the portion of the wicked to them; let your Word work against them in Jesus’ name.

The Word of God says, “Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth, That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?

Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds; Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he? He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea he shall be chased away as a vision of the night. The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place anymore behold him. His children shall seek to please the poor and his hands shall restore their goods,” Job 20:4–10.

Some people think wickedness is fun. There may be temporary fun in it for the wicked, but in the end they experience the reward described in Job 20:11-29. Depart from the wicked today. If you are not wicked but you feel the oppression of the wicked, pray that your wicked oppressors will feel the reality of these words: that the wicked of the earth will no longer oppress, in the name of Jesus.

Father God, we ask today that the triumph of the wicked in our lives be short; that the joy of the hypocrite be but for a moment. Those who pretend to be our friends but are our bitter enemies, Lord we ask that you shorten their joy, that they perish forever. We pray that the wicked will depart form our eyes and our realm and that the children of the oppressors of the poor will restore what their fathers have stolen. Father, deliver us from the temptation of wickedness, especially towards those who are vulnerable to us for you know how the enemy works. Let your portion for the wicked become the reality of the wicked who operate either overtly or covertly in our lives, ministries, and families.

Father God Almighty, we pray that in your mercy you bless us with your Holy Spirit without measure. Let your children become incapable of thinking, imagining, or manifesting wickedness. Let them develop a natural disdain for wickedness, that they will not be comfortable with the tabernacle of the wicked. Father, thank you for solving the problem of wickedness; for knowing what wickedness is operating against your children. Let the kingdom of wickedness in the lives of your children come to an end today in the name of Jesus. Whether we are being afflicted by wickedness or we are contemplating wickedness, nullify it today. Let the Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind be our portion today in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Points:

Beloved, you cannot be free from wickedness except you are born again. If you are not born again, pray with me now, “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you. Deliver me from the oppression of the wicked and deliver me from being wicked myself in Jesus’ name.” Amen.
