Know God and Be Strong
Scripture Reading: Daniel 11:32
“And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
Know God and Be Strong
Father God, we thank you for a new day and for new life. We thank you for your invitation to come and reason together with you, so that our sins will be washed away and the burdens of our heart will be rolled away; that we will become willing and obedient people who will eat the good of the land. Father, thank you for giving us the grace to know you better, to believe you more, to serve you better, to focus on relationship not religion. I pray that our walk will strengthen this relationship and that it will grow into a romance with the King. Father, let this be a reality in Jesus’ mighty name.
Beloved, if you know your God, it will make you strong; it will give you strength for exploits. If you know your God, you can smile at your enemies. Beloved, do you know your God personally or have you just been hearing about Him from other people’s experiences? Do you call God’s encounters with you, God’s dealing in relationship with you coincidence, but when you relate to other people, you call it reality? God says that if you believe in Him, you can ask anything in His name and He will do it. He says, let us reason together so that I will show you how to eat the good of the land by your willingness and obedience, Isaiah 1:18–19.
“ But the people that know their God shall be strong,” Daniel 11:32. If you are weak perhaps it is because you do not really know God. Perhaps it is because you have not factored God into your difficult situation so that He will overcome it for you.
When you know your God you will be strong and have the energy to do exploits. When you have a lot of energy, you are capable of doing many things at the same time. When you are weak, you see what you want to do but do not have the will to do it.
David said, “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid; The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me; In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet. And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind. And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies. Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled. The Lord thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice. And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them. And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils. He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters; He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay. He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me,” 2 Samuel 22:2–20.
My prayer is that God will give you a personal revelation of Himself so that you will be strong and do mighty acts. David knew His God and he was known as a strong king who did exploits. In the above passage, David was describing God the deliverer. When God fights your battle, sometimes you feel sorry for your enemies because He comes with overwhelming force. Is God your strength and power? Does He make your way perfect? “God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect,” 2 Samuel 22:33.
Prayer Points:
Lord God Almighty, we call on you today to give us a revelation of you, so that nothing can shake us. Manifest yourself in our rhema, in our inner being, as our strength and power. Make our way perfect in Jesus’ name. As you did with David, make our feet like hind’s feet; set us upon high places. Teach our hands to war, so that our hands, O Lord, will break a bow of steel. O Father, give us the shield of salvation and let your gentleness make us great, 2 Samuel 2:34–36. David was a great man but he did not attribute his greatness to personal power and his own strength. He said that the gentleness of God had made him great.
Father God, today I pray that you will give us knowledge of you and the grace to be strong. Your Word says that they that know their God shall be strong and do exploits. Let it be our reality. The only way of knowing God is to surrender your life to Him. Beloved, if you have never given your life to Jesus, pray with me, “Dear Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you.
Write my name in the book of life and give me the grace to know you, so that I will be strong and do exploits in Jesus’ name.” Amen.
