Let All the People Praise The Lord
Scripture Reading: Psalm 67
“Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee,” Psalm 67:3.
Let All the People Praise The Lord
Father God, we thank you for the reality of your Presence and the power of the Holy Spirit. We bless you for the priviledge of a relationship with you. We thank you, O living God, for the hope of your Word.
“God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him,” Psalm 67.
When Christians are asked, “How are you?” we often automatically reply, “Blessed.” But what does it mean to be blessed? The foundation of being blessed by God is mercy: not human merit, but God’s mercy. The psalmist, therefore, requests God’s mercy and blessings upon us, and also that God cause His face to shine upon us. When God blesses us, we actually begin to resemble him and glow. People will look at you and say, “You’ve got your Father’s eyes” or “There’s this glow about you.” You will shine, just as Moses shone after God graciously met with him and renewed His covenant with Israel in Exodus 34:27–30.
Why will God cause His face to shine upon you? The psalm says that God will bless you so that His way and His saving health may be known all over the earth. The psalmist encourages literally “all the people” to praise God.
All peoples should be brought in to worship God. The psalmist goes on to say that when all the people praise God, the nations will be glad and sing for joy and God will judge the people righteously. The earth shall then yield its increase.
There are blessings of increase linked to a people praising God. Therefore, it is important for us to forget about our denominations and come together in corporate worship where all the different types of people God created praise God.
There are blessings linked to corporate worship, including bringing together people who otherwise would not be under the same roof to bless God. There, the earth yields its increase as God blesses us.
Prayer Points:
If you have never given your life to Jesus, but you want to receive these blessings, pray with me now, “Dear Lord Jesus, I forsake my sins. I surrender my life to you. Cleanse me from my sins with your blood. Write my name in the book of life and give me the born- again experience to the glory of your Holy Name.”
Heavenly Father, let all the saints, all the people, be lifted up from their slumber to come together and worship you. Let all the gates be lifted up. Lift the sheep gate, that your elect may come in. Lift up the fish gate, so that those who are meant to be brought into the Kingdom, be brought in to worship you. Let the old gate restore true worship, so not our personal entertainment, but you, are the total focus of worship. Bring the valley gate: those who are the depressed, up to the mountaintop as they worship. May all the other gates: the dung, fountain, water, horse and east gates be opened so that all your people will come to worship Your Majesty. And let the earth yield her increase in the lives of all worshippers.
Bless us so that all the ends of the earth shall know of your miraculous and gracious ways and fear you.
