Mergers and Acquisitions

Scripture Reading: Luke 1:31–35
“Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God,” Luke 1:34–35.

Mergers and Acquisitions

Father God, thank you for being our Redeemer who lives. In your mercy, give us the grace to be delivered from oppression, from anything that is making the reality of our lives contrary to your Word, which states that you made us to have dominion.

Large corporations use a strategy to dominate their market. First, they downsize to eliminate redundant or unnecessary positions. Then they begin to cover their weak areas and expand their vision. Next, they merge with other powerful companies to acquire additional assets.

Large corporations adopt this strategy based on their knowledge of how the world operates. The very same God who created the world and has intimate knowledge of His creation encourages His children to utilize similar tactics in order to have dominion over the earth. God declared in Genesis that we should be fruitful and multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue and have dominion over all things.

In order to accomplish God’s plan, we must:

  1. Downsize, or lay aside every weight and sin that easily besets us.

  2. Cover our vulnerabilities.

  3.  Expand our vision.

  4. Merge with the Holy Spirit.

  5. Acquire the Spirit’s attributes.

Steps four and five, when compounded, represent a merger and acquisition that is essential for dominating on earth.
Mergers and acquisitions are not just secular business terms; they are serious Kingdom business terms. Mary experienced such a merger and acquisition as recorded in Luke 1: “And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom, there shall be no end,” Luke 1:31–33.

When the angel told Mary that she would bear a child, Mary responded, “How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?,” verse 34. Similarly, many are wondering how they can dominate if they have no connections? The answer does not lie in your human connections but in the Holy Spirit. Just as the Holy Ghost came upon Mary powerfully so that she became Jesus’ mother and fulfilled God’s plan for her life, the Holy Spirit can cause you to have the dominion God wants you to have. When you enter into a merger with the Holy Spirit, you will acquire the power of God with which you can dominate the earth to the glory of God in the name of Jesus. You will become the person God created you to be; the attributes and power of the Holy Spirit will transform you into a dominator. It is not enough for you to settle, for you to say, “I am a Christian. I go to church.” Are you in a merger with the Holy Spirit? Are you working with the power of the Holy Spirit?

Prayer Points:

The first step to entering into that merger is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. If you are not born again, pray with me, “Dear Jesus, I accept you now as my personal Lord and Saviour. I confess and forsake my sins. Cleanse me from my sins with your blood. Pour into my life the power of the Holy Spirit and let my life be merged with you.”

Father God, let your Holy Spirit come upon me. Let the power of your Holy Spirit overshadow me, so that I will begin to accomplish great things for your glory. Amen.
