Divine Restoration
Scripture Reading: Joel 2:21–27
“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you,” Joel 2:25.
Divine Restoration
Father God, thank you because you are the only one who can restore to us everything that the enemy has stolen. I pray that you will honour your Word so that it will manifest in our lives, and testimonies will abound.
In agricultural societies, people depend on rain in order to sustain their livelihood. But this can be very frustrating because they cannot control rainfall; only God can do that. Similarly, even if we do not realize it, we also depend on rain from God, rain in the form of blessings that He showers upon His children:
“Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things. Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength. Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed,” Joel 2:21–27.
In this passage, the moderate rain refers to all the blessings of God that would normally come into your life, the subsistence level of blessings that most Christians experience. The former rain refers to the blessings you should have received but did not, due to evil works that the devil planted in your life in childhood. The enemy suppressed, diverted, and ultimately stole those blessings. But today, God has purposed your restoration. His Word says that He will pour blessings out into your life in the form of the former rain, and that He will pour the latter rain in the first month. This means that God is not only going to bless you with what you are due now, but also with the blessings you missed because of the enemy’s diversion.
Furthermore, God says He will bring down the blessings that were meant to come later because you need the triple blessing now. God is ready to pour into your life these blessings.
Though at one time God allowed the enemy to have his way by planting tares in your childhood, it is now harvest time. God is ready to pour into your life the moderate blessings; blessings of your former rain, and blessings of your latter rain; and He will pour all of this down in one month.
No wonder He tells us to be glad and rejoice.
When God does a great thing, it surpasses anything your mind can imagine. As you begin to receive restoration in the name of Jesus, I pray that it will become very clear that the hand of the Lord is doing it.
Prayer Points:
Father, let your Word work; do what only you can do. In your mercy, let everything that has been stolen from us be released to us in the name of Jesus. Let every demonic incantation or spell rendered against us be canceled in the name of Jesus.
Lord, heal all wounds and spiritual injuries sustained from the attack of the enemy in our lives. We reject the spirit of rejection, woes, and disappointment in the name of Jesus.
Give us the power for a new beginning. Lord, let the rain begin to fall, the rain of sustenance, of lost blessings, of future blessings. I thank you because your Word is true. You said that you would restore the years the locust has eaten. I pray that we will see the proof of your handiwork and that we will give you glory and serve you forever.
