Blessings of Deuteronomy
Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 28:1–15
“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God,” Deuteronomy 28:1–2.
Blessings of Deuteronomy
Father God, in the name of Jesus we pray that you grant us the grace to wax greater and greater. Only you can bring to reality the greatness that you have destined for us.
If we hearken unto the voice of the Lord, He will bless us in every way. “Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways,” Deuteronomy 28:3–7.
All these blessings will overtake you when you are in Jesus. The only condition is that you believe and obey the Word of God. If you do not have a Bible, get one and read it every day in order to grow. Pray the Scriptures, because this brings God’s words before Him, and it unlocks His teachings and blessings.
Prayer Points:
Let us pray the Scriptures according to Deuteronomy 28:7–15. I pray that God will cause the enemies that rise up against you to be smitten before your face; that when they come out against you one way they will flee before you in seven directions. I pray that the Lord will command blessings upon you in your storehouses, in all that you set your hands to do, and that He will bless you in the land the Lord gives you.
May the Lord establish you as holy unto Himself, as He has sworn to you if you will keep His commandments. May God give you the grace to keep His commandments and to work according to His ways. I pray that the Lord make you plenteous in goods and in the fruit of your body. May He open to you His good treasure, the heaven to give rain in His season and to bless all the works of your hand so that you will lend unto many nations and not borrow. I pray that the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; that you will be above only and never beneath. If you hearken unto the commandments of the Lord your God and observe them, without straying to the right or to the left, these blessings will overtake you and you will be blessed indeed.
If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you have no access to such blessings. You cannot approach God in prayer. You cannot receive forgiveness when you fail to follow God’s commandments because you are not clothed in the righteousness of Christ. Pray with me now, “Lord Jesus, I am a sinner who needs forgiveness. I surrender my life to you and turn away from my sinful ways. Write my name in the book of life and fill me with your Holy Spirit.
Give me the grace to wax greater and greater.”
