Divine Connections: Good Speed

Scripture Reading: Genesis 24:12
“And he said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.”

Divine Connections: Good Speed

In the book of Genesis 24, we see an orchestration of divine connection. Abraham’s servant had been given the profound responsibility of bringing a wife home to Abraham’s son, Isaac. Finding a life partner requires divine connection to align it perfectly.

Genesis 24: 1-4 says, “And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things. And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh: And I will make thee swear by the Lord, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell.” Abraham was old and well stricken in age. The Lord had blessed him in all things.

Genesis 4:12 continues, “ And he said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me, good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.” Verse 27 says “…Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master’s brethren”. That is divine connection, a divine leading.

Brethren, divine connection comes by divine leading.

In Romans 8:14 the Bible says, “For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Abraham’s servant said “God grant me good speed”. I want everyone reading this message today to pray for the grace of good speed from above. Most of us think our speed is by our will power, by our determination; but there is a spirit of speed that comes from the Almighty that causes all grace to abound to us. There is a spirit that comes from God that brings the speed of God and that is what Abraham’s servant calls “good speed.”

Sometimes we can make haste but it is a waste; it is bad speed. You are hurrying but you are accomplishing little. But if it is good speed, coming from the speed of the Holy Spirit, it brings about divine connection and all needs are met.

Abraham’s servant met the need of his master. His assignment was peacefully and positively accomplished. Rebecca met her husband, all in God speed which is good speed. I pray the speed of God into your life today. Pray that God Almighty who blessed Abraham’s servant with good speed, will send you good speed today.

I pray that the Holy Spirit himself give us all a deeper understanding of the value of divine connections because they will inspire, provoke us to good works, open doors, and bring breakthroughs into our lives and bless us beyond our imagination.

Prayer points:

I pray that God will grant you good speed today. Good speed only comes from God and God gives that speed through the power of His Holy spirit and His Holy spirit comes to those who surrender their lives to Jesus, who are born again and filled with His spirit. O Father God I pray that you save souls today through this message. And for souls that are saved that are wondering which way to turn, I ask O Lord that you send to us good speed by the power of the Holy Spirit that we all join with our divine connections in Jesus’ name. Amen.
