Identity of the Christian Super Culture

Scripture Reading: Galatians 5:22-23

“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Identity of the Christian Super Culture

Today, let us examine the benefits of being part of the super culture called Christianity.

Culture gives you identity. One of the privileges of being part of the Christian super culture is that it gives you a defined identity as a peculiar person, part of a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a chosen generation, called out, separated from the world to show forth the praises of God.

You have an identity in Christ Jesus. You have an identity with God.  He looks at you and He knows that you are His child.

You gain entrance into that super culture by becoming born again, receiving Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, recognizing that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, and that God operates on earth with the power of the Holy Spirit. When you have all these three in place, you have a defined identity. When you receive Jesus, He will give you the seal, the earnest of the Holy Spirit that will enable you to live out the Christian super culture described in Galatians 5:22-23 and to recognize that Jesus Christ is your King.

Along with these benefits, when you are part of the Christian super culture, you become responsible for obeying the commandments of God and Jesus Christ, your King. You get the privilege of hearing from God. You get the privilege of having the authority and rights to the assets of the super culture, the right to be called a child of God, the right to pray in the name of Jesus and be heard, and the right to manifest faith, the right to lay hands on the sick and have them recover. You get to appropriate all the rights, privileges, and promises that are in the Bible.

Beloved, the Christian culture has innumerable spiritual and physical assets. Physical health and well-being are included. The Lord says in 3 John 2, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” Now you can read that passage and internalize it in your spirit and say, “Lord this is your wish for me.  I have looked at my building with you.  My foundation is right with Exodus 20.  I am walking with the Holy Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. Jesus Christ is my King. Lord I want your Word to work in my life.  I want 3 John 2 to be totally evident in my life, that I prosper and be in health even as my soul prospers. Lord, make me a living proof of the reality of the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Make me a living proof of the super culture that is Christianity in its true sense.  Let me be identified as a citizen of the Kingdom of God.”

Prayer Points:

If you have never given your life to Jesus but want to be identified as a Christian say the following prayer: “Dear Lord Jesus, I accept you as my personal Lord and Saviour. Lord, I want to be identified with you. Write my name in the book of life. Let me belong to you so that I will be accepted in the beloved and every rejection I face will pale, will disappear in the light of your acceptance of me, O Lord.”

If you have already accepted Jesus and are looking at your life and saying, “I am a Christian. I want to be in that super culture so that I can assume the total identity” pray, “Dear Lord, in every way I have lost my identity as a Christian, I ask you to restore me today. Every distorted image of my personality and my ministry, Lord correct it today because I am part of that super culture called Christianity, and I need to be identified with Christ. Lord restore to me that grace to be like Christ, to manifest His virtues in my generation. Give me that identity, O Lord. Give me that sense of belonging and deliver me from every pain of rejection. Let me be glad indeed that I belong to Jesus.”

Father, help your children to recognize and come into the reality that they belong to you, that they find their identity in you, and that they are accepted in the Beloved. Lord, may they appropriate all the privileges of Christianity and its culture, the rights to the Word of God, and the grace to become a child of God. Let all the privileges of Christianity become manifest in every area of our lives and give us the grace to live out the Christian super culture.
