Scripture Reading: 2 Timothy 3:16-17

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” 2 Timothy 3:16.

Journey of the Beloved Bride of Christ 3

Today, we share the journey of the beloved of the Lord, the Bride of the Lord Jesus Christ, through the New Testament.

In the book of Matthew, the Bride, like Mary, brought forth Jesus and caused God to dwell with us. In Mark, the beloved goes into all the world to preach the gospel.  These signs  follow her: in the name of Jesus, she casts out devils, speaks with new tongues, takes up serpents, is not harmed by deadly foods, lays hands on the sick and they recover. In Luke, the groom, our Lord Jesus, prays for the Bride’s conversion from loved to beloved, and the Lord is glorified in her life. In the book of John, the Bridegroom Jesus gives eternal life and she will forever be with the risen Lord.  In Acts, the beloved receives the power of the Holy Spirit. In Romans, she is delivered from the condemnation of the law, and the spirit of life in Christ Jesus sets her free from the law of sin and death. In 1 Corinthians, her faith stands in the power of God and not in the wisdom of man for her trust is now out of this world. In 2 Corinthians, the beloved separates herself from the world and refuses to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers because there is no agreement within the temple of God, which she has become.  In Galatians the Bride receives the fruit of the Spirit and walks in agape love, a joy that is perpetual, a peace that passes all understanding, longsuffering that can only come from the Spirit of God, a gentleness beyond her broad carnal inclinations, goodness that comes from obeying the instructions of God, a faith in believing in things that she does not see and placing her trust in the God that reaches beyond this world, meekness that has all the power but does not let it control her, temperance that is moderate in all things.

In Ephesians, she is blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, and she is accepted in the Beloved.  In Philippians, she forgets those things that are behind and reaches forward unto those things that are ahead. She presses toward the mark for the price of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. In Colossians, she is strengthened with all might according to His glorious power unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness. In 1 Thessalonians, the God of peace sanctifies her as holy. In 2 Thessalonians, God recompenses tribulations to them that trouble her. In 1 Timothy, she wars a good warfare according to the prophecies spoken over her. In 2 Timothy, she becomes a vessel of honour.   In Titus, she speaks evil of no man, and is regenerated by the renewing of the Holy Spirit. In Philemon, the communication of her faith becomes effectual by the acknowledgement of every good thing, which is in her through Christ Jesus her groom. In Hebrews, she becomes a flame of fire and uses the lively Word of God. In James, she receives wisdom liberally, even as she asks for the secrets of wisdom.

In 1 Peter, she is of a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, and a peculiar person because she shows forth the praises of Him who has called her out of darkness into His marvelous light. In 2 Peter, she diligently adds virtues to her faith. In 1 John, the love of the Father is in the Bride; therefore, she is unable to love the world.  In 2 John, she looks to herself and is careful, so that she will receive a full reward. In 3 John, she is called the beloved by the lover of her soul, the Lord Jesus Christ, and He expresses to her His wish above all things that she prosper and be in health even as her soul prospers. In Jude, she is given a revelation of false teachers and is assured that she will be kept from falling and be presented faultless before the presence of the glory of God with exceeding joy.

Finally in the book of Revelation, the Bridegroom, the Lord Jesus Christ, introduces Himself to her as the Alpha and the Omega. He is the Amen and the Amen. He is the so be it. Yes, He is the Bridegroom of the beloved.
