God’s Favoured People

Scripture Reading: Ephesians 1

“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love,” Ephesians 1:4.

God’s Favoured People

Our Father and our God, we thank you for the wonders of your love, for the wonders of your favour upon our lives. We thank you because you are so good. Lord, we thank you because you bless us immensely with your presence and with your favour.  Glory be to your holy name.

God’s favoured people are a people God has set apart for good, for Himself, to experience His love, blessings, breakthroughs, encouragement , peace and joy.  God’s favoured people are those called by God. Like Abraham, who was called out of his people in Genesis 12; like Moses, who had his burning bush experience; like Samuel, who was called even as a child.  And because God calls them, men usually reject them. You have a call upon your life and you are excited about that call and you are looking for ways to fulfill God’s purpose for your life, but wherever you turn that is not in the Beloved, you begin to experience rejection.  Rejection is normal among the called of God, so be encouraged. Rejection will come, but you are accepted in the Beloved.  That is what the Word of God says to us in Ephesians 1:6; that you are accepted in an environment where love is active.

So men reject the favoured of God, but because God loves them very much, He approves of them.  God’s favoured people are approved and defended by God, and in His love for His favoured people He will do anything.  He says He will give men for you, “For He that touches you, touches the apple of His eye,” Zechariah 2:8. And He gives a general warning to all, “Saying touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm,” 1 Chronicles 16:22; Psalm 105:15. Yes, God’s favoured people get divine provision and protection. They get divine provision that reaches them in a manner that they themselves sometimes cannot explain or understand because it is God’s provision for His favoured. Remember in the Bible when the Lord provided for the children of Israel when they were crossing from Egypt to the Promised Land and manna came down from heaven. Manna means . . . “what is it?”  God will so provide for you that you will begin to say, ”what is it?”

God gives them the grace to use their anointing, their favour to fulfill their calling from God for His people.  Because they are a favoured people, they are the beloved of God with all the attributes and attitudes of the beloved who give God pleasure.

Who are the beloved? The beloved are those who love God back. The favoured people are the beloved of God with all the attributes and attitudes of the one who has put on the love of God.  They love to worship God, obey God, are sensitive to His needs in their time, and in all their ways acknowledge God. They have a God heart, a God act, a God peace, a God love, and a God joy.

The final point I want to make about the favoured is that they have relevance in their time. In every generation you can identify the people God has favoured. They make a difference in their time, and the difference they make outlives them. They are relevant, therefore, in both time and eternity.

Prayer Points:

Beloved, today I would like us to pray because I consider you to be as favoured as Abraham, as favoured as Moses, as favoured as Samuel, as favoured as Esther, as favoured as Paul, and as favoured as our Lord Jesus Christ who died for you so that you could become one with Him, so that you will do greater works than He. Yes, the people I have mentioned are favoured people and we would like to add your name to the list. So, I would like you to pray with me today and say, “O Lord God, make my calling clear to me in the name of Jesus. Father God Almighty, approve and defend me. Lord, deliver me from the discouragement of rejection in the name of Jesus. Holy Father, anoint me and provide for me; bless me enough to be a blessing in your Kingdom in the name of Jesus. Give me the grace to upgrade my walk with you and manifest the attributes and attitudes of the favoured. Lord, let me be relevant to you in my time and in eternity, in the name of Jesus.”

Do you desire to be one of God’s favoured people? Then pray with me if you have never given your life to Jesus. The first level of favour is salvation. Say, “Dear Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. I pray that you write my name in the book of life.” If you are already born again, but you just want the favour of God to rest upon you, God is raining down His favour now upon His people who are the beloved.  Pray and say, “Lord pour your favour on me. Make me one of your favoured people so that I will be in that hall of fame of God’s beloved and favoured people, in the name of Jesus.”  Amen.
