Stepping Stones

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 12:7

“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.”

Stepping Stones

Stepping stones are steps that take you up to a higher ground where you will behold the glory of God; where you will behold the deliverance of God; where you will behold the salvation of God.  Lord God we give you glory, honour, and adoration.

We thank you for stepping stones.

There are seven stepping stones today that you can “step on” to behold the glory of God, to experience your breakthrough.

Stepping Stone No.1: The Word of God. Hallelujah! Psalm 119:89 states clearly, “Forever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.” To be settled means it has ceased to move around. It means the Word of God will not change. You can stand on it confidently.  So the first stepping stone for you, the convert, the one who loves Jesus, the one who is surrendered to Him, is the Word of God.  Let it be a lamp unto your feet.  Read the Word.

Believe the Bible. Enjoy it. Pray with it. Praise with it in the name of Jesus. Your stepping stone as the convert of the Lord Jesus Christ is the Word of God.  Praise the Lord.

Stepping Stone No.2: The gifts of the Holy Spirit. Do you know that as a believer who has become converted, the wind of the Holy Spirit has blown on you? This means that you will begin to manifest the fruit of the Holy Spirit and your unique gifting for the body of Christ will begin to come out. 1 Corinthians 12:7-10 says, “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers [diverse] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.” Yes, there are nine different gifts available to the convert. Your unique gifting will be a stepping stone. Your gift will make room for you according to Proverbs 18:16. It is a stepping stone, so, value the gift of God in your life in the name of Jesus.

Stepping Stone No.3: Potential. Proverbs 22:29 says, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business?  he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean [mere] men.” Yes, your diligence, your potential, your abilities are your stepping stones. Use them well.  Do not waste time.  Be diligent with your talents and God will give you the grace to get to your next level.  God will give you the grace to experience a breakthrough in your potential. Many of us just sit on our potential.  May God cause us to arise and manifest our potential as another  stepping stone in our progress in the name of Jesus.

Stepping Stone No.4: Worship and Prayer. “… the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much,” James 5:16. Pray as if your life depends on it. It does. When you pray, you are acknowledging that you need God’s help. And when you humble yourself in worship and prayer, God moves in with His might and gives you a breakthrough. So, worship and prayer are stepping stones.

Stepping Stone No.5: Friends. Friends that God has put in your life are stepping stones. Proverbs 17:17, “A friend loveth at all times.” God has put those people in your life to bless you, to encourage you, to correct you.  Appreciate them.

Stepping Stone No.6: Foes. David says in Psalm 110:1, “The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I

make thine enemies thy footstool.” God will cause your enemies to be your stepping stones in the name of Jesus. Step on your challenges. Many have accomplished much because of enemies. God uses enemies to stir us up, to get us to our next level. Look at Hannah’s life. She was complacent with her barrenness until Peninnah teased her and provoked her to pray, provoked her to pledge, and then Samuel came forth. So our foes, in many ways, are also our stepping stones.

Stepping Stone No.7:  Problems and Challenges.  If you faint in the face of adversity, your strength is small; but your strength should be strong because you are a child of God; you should use the might of God. Your problems and challenges are your stepping stones. God allows them to come so that you can get your promotion. In 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 the Word of God says, “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” Our light afflictions work for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Yes, your problems and challenges are also your stepping stones.

Prayer Points:

I pray that in the name of Jesus, today, if you have not given your life to Jesus, you will call on Him and say, “Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Pour your Spirit into me and give me the grace to step on my stepping stones. Lord God, bless me with the grace to value your Word, to value your giftings in my life, in the name of Jesus. Help me to value my potential, to value worship and prayer, to value my friends, my foes, and my problems and challenges; give me the grace to step on them to get to my new glory, in the name of Jesus.” Amen.
