Live!

Scripture Reading: Ezekiel 16:6–13

“And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee, when thou wast in thy blood, Live,” Ezekiel 16:6.

Live!

Father God, we thank you because you are a faithful God; you have delivered; are delivering; and will yet deliver. Lord, like David, give us the grace to say, the Lord who delivered me from the hand of the lion and the bear will deliver me from the death that the present Goliath is inflicting on me, 1 Sam 17:37. Father, we thank you for the priviledge of life because you are the one who brings us through.

Many of us do not want to remember the times we have been attacked by the robbery of sin and our enemies. We were left for dead, lying helplessly on the ground, when the Lord passed by and saw us polluted in our own blood, and said, “Live!”

“I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments:  thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare. Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord God, and thou becamest mine. Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil. I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers’ skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.  I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets

upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck. And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head. Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom,” Ezekiel 16:7–13.

When there is life, there is hope. If the enemy of your soul, life, and destiny had his way, you would have been dead by now. But God passed by and said to you, “Live!”  You are alive and well. Today, God will bring you through any challenge you are facing. (“Through” is the operative word. It is not a permanent address; God will take you through that experience).  Encourage yourself by remembering from whence God has brought you. Today is better than yesterday; therefore, be persuaded that tomorrow will be better than today.

Remember how God passed by you at birth?  You were covered in blood from your very beginning on earth and He said unto you, “Live!”  God is still faithful and He is still passing by you. God saves, then covers, and finally, decorates. Beyond covering you with salvation, He has given you embroidered garments. Beyond embroidered garments, He has decked you with ornaments of fine jewelry and a crown. I am not talking about the jewelry that you wear, but rather about spiritual beautification that God puts in your spirit-man.  It takes you from being a pauper to a prince or princess.  You wear a crown because you are a child of the Most High.

Prayer Points:

Father I thank you for passing by me at the place of my birth. Thank you for commanding me to live and keeping me alive unto this day. Thank you for the way you have progressively blessed and decorated me by taking me from glory to glory in You.  Dear Lord, continue your loving-kindness and cause me to live the abundant life on earth and dwell with you in eternity. However, all of these things are for those who are born again. If you are facing a difficult situation and have not accepted Jesus as your personal Saviour, pray for your salvation now, “Dear Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you. I confess and forsake my sins. Cleanse me from my sins with your blood and write my name in the book of life.  Amen.
