Visions and Dreams
Father God, I pray that you give us the grace to be inspired to pray, to dream bigger and bigger, and to wax greater and greater each day.
How do we get to the spiritual level of dreaming dreams and visions? There are several pre-requisites, including moving from your valley to your mountaintop. The process begins by having divine discontent with your valley experience so that you turn to your faith in God. As you read and believe the Word of God you will begin to internalize the promises and prophecies of God. These prophecies and promises are given not for you to be excited about, but rather for you to do warfare with them so that you can move to your next level of faith. When you say warfare prayers with your prophecies, you hold onto the prophecies that have been proclaimed over you, and when you exercise warfare with them, you will get your desired progress, which is bringing forth good dreams and great visions.
When Jacob finished wrestling, he brought forth Joseph, the great dreamer, interpreter of dreams, and visioner. When you finish doing warfare with your prophecies, God will give you a clear picture of where you are going. The Word of God says, “And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you this dream which I have dreamed: For behold, we were binding sheaves in the field and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed?
Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying,” Genesis 37:5–11.
The dreams you have after warfare prayer with prophecy will be so good that having them will bring envy if you share them. When you are still in the valley, you will have valley dreams or nightmares of others oppressing you. I pray that you will get out of the valley and take hold of the Word of God so that your faith will arise. As you read the Word, I pray that the promises and prophecies will be internalized in your spirit man and that you will, like Jacob, do warfare and produce a Joseph, who will be the dreamer and the visioner.
Joseph was noted for his vision because he delivered Egypt from the famine. He was known because of his ability to dream about challenges and have a vision of how to deal with them. He was able to visualize how to get out of the famine by using the seven years of plenty to prepare for the seven years of famine. You do not gain this ability by casually walking with God; you have to dwell deeper in the word by doing warfare so that God will make you a visioner.
You will visualize yourself getting out of the valley after you have done the warfare. You will begin to dream that you will be on the mountaintop and that you will worship God from that vantage point in life. When you have dreams that make people hate you, it is okay because God will not allow their hatred to be effective. The Word of God says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose,” Romans 8:28. God called and justified Joseph and took him from glory to glory. His brethren locked him up, but that took him closer to his mountaintop. The man in the prison for whom Joseph interpreted a dream forgot about him, but even that worked for his good. In due time Joseph was positively remembered for interpreting a dream for the butler in prison. Joseph became a custodian of dreams once he got to his high place.
He had the ability to decode dreams and to see visions.
I pray that good visions and dreams will become a reality in your life when you do warfare prayers with the prophecies in the Bible that concern you and the prophecies that have been proclaimed over you. I pray that you will do warfare and have good visions and dreams so that you will get closer to your mountaintop. You are meant to wax greater and greater, from the valley to the mountaintop, and you will do this as you take these steps that are divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit. I pray that we will all have a divine sensitivity to what is needed to improve our lives so that we will move from the valley existence to the mountaintop experience.
Prayer Points:
If you have never given your life to Jesus, you cannot wax greater and greater. You cannot have good dreams or great visions without Jesus Christ, the great visioner in your life. So pray with me now, “Dear Lord Jesus, I accept you as my personal Lord and Saviour. Write my name in the book of life and take me from the valley to the mountaintop in Jesus’ name.” Amen.
