Everlasting Father

Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 33:12
“…The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.”

Everlasting Father

Father God, we thank you for the priviledge of knowing you as our Everlasting Father. Lord, we thank you because you have an everlasting nature; we thank you because you are not controlled by time. Your fatherhood is not intermittent; it is permanent; it is from eternity to time and from time to eternity. Lord, we glorify your holy name because you are everlasting.

May God give you and me the grace to operate in His Kingdom as subjects of the King of kings; to operate with a consciousness of His dominion over our time and the affairs of our lives. Be an active lover of God, an active servant of the King and be the beloved so that you will dwell between His shoulders. I pray that this year, the government of your life will totally be upon the shoulders of the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace,” Isaiah 9:6.

His name shall be called Wonderful (may His wonders permeate your life), Counselor (may He counsel you), and Mighty God (may His might be manifested on your behalf.) Today, I want us to focus on His name as the Everlasting Father. In a human life, children are born into the hands of parents, but sometimes through the course of life, we experience the departure of a father. When he departs, he is no longer physically available. But to anyone who may be mourning the absence of a father, today I want to encourage you with the reality that you have an everlasting Father if you make yourself available to Him. God is to you what you make Him to be. If you look at God and say, “God, I want you to be my everlasting Father,” God in His faithfulness will accept you as His everlasting child. Jesus has the ability to be a Father who will never die because He is the Everlasting Father.

May you experience the everlasting fatherhood of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Ancient of Days; He was there in the beginning and He is still here today. Many fathers have come and gone, but He is our everlasting Father. Ask for a revelation today that the Lord Jesus Christ is your permanent Father, the Father who will never disown you and never die. He is the one who will defend you with all His might and with His omnipresent abilities. He is the Father who will provide for you because He is Jehovah Jireh; the Father who is El- Shaddai, because he has the ability to be all-sufficient for you. Yes, He is Jehovah Shalom, the God of your peace. He is Jehovah Shammah, your ever-present God.

He is your everlasting Father and He is asking us today: “Would you accept me as your everlasting Father? Would you factor the reality of my everlasting Fatherhood into your intermittent fatherhood relationship? Would you come to me and be at rest in the issue of parenting?” Some may have been abused, cursed, and abandoned by earthly fathers, but Jesus is our everlasting Father. He is able to make provision for you to the end: provision for you in time and provision for you in eternity.

God has introduced His Son to us and expressly stated all the dimensions of His Kingship. He says, “and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God; and His name shall be called Everlasting Father.” I am introducing you to The Father today. A Father who will never die, whose will is active and whose blessings are always being replenished, because His resources are inexhaustible.

Prayer Points:

O Everlasting Father, the Author of our lives, the Finisher of our faith, the Alpha and the Omega who has the ability to begin and finish, the one who wrote the first chapter of our lives and the one who will give us the experience of positive eternity in heaven, my everlasting Father, I pray to you today. I call on you to reveal to us the concept of your everlasting Fatherhood, that no one would ever feel fatherless again. I pray that every abuse from an earthly father will be eliminated today, as the concept of your everlasting fatherhood becomes a reality to us.

O King of kings, I pray that you will walk us through the years, months, days, hours and minutes with the revelation and understanding that we have an Everlasting Father and His name is Jesus.

If you are not born again, start by surrendering your life to Him now and say, “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you and I submit myself to your everlasting Fatherhood.”

May you personally embrace the concept of the everlasting Fatherhood of the Lord Jesus Christ in your life today.
