Beware of Bewitchment

Scripture Reading: Galatians 3:1
“O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?”

Beware of Bewitchment

Father God, we thank you for allowing us to be a part of your Kingdom and for increasing our consciousness of it. Life is not about us in our little corner of the world; it is about you in the totality of your Kingdom. For the kingdom of this world has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever. O Lord, identify all who have your Spirit, for your Word makes it clear that as many as are filled and led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Many people are planted in our churches and ministries who do not have the Spirit of God in them. They are not led by the Spirit; they are inside to bewitch and enchant. We must pray earnestly, asking for a revelation that will cause us to eliminate them from our lives, our homes, and our ministries. We must ask the Lord for His counsel and wisdom, that we will never fall victim to the wiles and works of witches, sorcerers, and the spirit of bewitchment.

Paul asked the Galatians, “Who hath bewitched you?” God has a great Kingdom and a great plan. He has called out His own and sent them to earth for an assignment, but the greatest hindrance, neutralizer, and diversion is the spirit of bewitchment operating in the church. The Bible says that the devil has come down as an angel of light, so the children of God need to beware. When God gives you an assignment, the devil assigns hindering spirits and locates them in the same venue. Your assignment involves the people in your ministry, your family, and your place of work. You have a great assignment; just be aware that there is a contrary assignment there also. I thank God that we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us, but we must recognize that we have to have knowledge. The Bible says, “if they obey not, they will perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge,” Job 36:12.

Beloved, the bewitching spirit often operates through enchantment, which can be witchcraft’s most diplomatic tool. An enchantment is something that mesmerizes you and causes you to behave differently than if you had full command of your senses. You are meant to be at the cutting edge of ministry, but the devil sends a bewitching spirit; not one who is invisible, but one who is located in a person, through a personality, or a people. Their assignment is clear: to incapacitate you so that you do not fulfill your ministry. I want to warn particularly those who know they have a call upon their lives, those who know that sooner or later they will be in ministry. Beware of bewitchment. If it did not exist Paul would not have said to the Galatians: “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you?” Do not be foolish, be wise and understand how the spirit of witchcraft operates in a church, a family, or in any social setting. Enchanters arrive with distractions, confusion, divisions, and problems that may make you forget the essence of your assignment. Sometimes they come with the spirit of outright hostility.

O divinely assigned child of God, may God give you revelations for the discerning of spirits and the ability to rise above them in the name of Jesus. How can you fault someone who is always giving you gifts and bending over backwards to help you? Whether you are conscious of it or not, the person who is up to no good is making his or herself an issue, a personality, or principality in your life. Sooner or later there will be strings attached to the aid they give you and you will become their puppet, because you have become beholden to them. Beware of the gifts you take. Sometimes people in church are very eager to give you money. “Take this for your transportation, take this for your food, take this . . . ” When you receive that gift, do you feel beholden to the giver? The only giver you and I should be beholden to is the Lord Jesus Christ.

O believer, seek God while avoiding baseless gifts from men. Tell them you do not need it. Do not let an important person buy your soul with food, or buy your soul with money. Avoid anyone who makes you feel like you owe them. This is an enchanting bewitching spirit. The Bible says they will be judged for their sorcery. A sorcerer is one who practices spells or uses sorcery to exercise supernatural powers on others through the assistance of the spirit of witchcraft. I pray that God will give you the grace to discern that you are not meant to fall prey to the works of enchanters. May God cause you to wake up, and regain and redeem the time they have stolen. Father, restore to us the years that the locust has eaten and the time that the enchanter has taken from us and from our ministry.

Prayer Points:

I pray for that one, for that ministry that has been nullified and neutralized by the spirit of witchcraft. I pray today that our Mighty God will deliver you from the operation of the spirit of witchcraft in your ministry, in your home, in your family, in your children, and in every realm of your life as you operate with the consciousness of the King. O may you be wise and never be bewitched. Beware of bewitchment, enchantments, agents of darkness, and wolves in sheep’s clothing. Father, we pray that you eliminate the enchanter from our lives and cause us to work with a pure heart to fulfill our destiny in Jesus’ name. Amen.
